Misses Mary Bunz and Marie Ohrt were shopping in Omaha Wednesday.

Herman Schwock is serving on the United States jury in Omaha this week.

Maine must continue to sneak it in Hurrah for decency, if that is what you call it.

A number of ladies of the local lodge of the Royal Neighbors visited the lodge at Irvington Thursday.

Miss Mabel Busch of Washington was visiting friends here the later part of last week, returning to her home Saturday evening.

Third district democrates have evidently become so accustomed to a check book campaign that they would miss it sadly if it should go out of fashion.

Dr. C.W. Hickey and wife entertained the doctor’s mother and grandmother several days this week. This formed the combination of four generations. They left Monday fo Syracuse, Nebr., where Mrs. Hickey will visit with her daughter, Mrs. Carl Ashton.

Arthur Stark, son of Chris Stark living south of Bennington, was taken suddenly ill Saturday morning while picking corn for John F. Petersen. Johnny took him home in his auto and Dr. Hickey was summoned who pronounced it a acute attack of appendieitis which may necessitate an operation before the attack will subside.

Miss Minnie Petersen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Petersen of this place, was quite severely burned last Saturday while tilling lamps at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Coy at Waterloo where she is employed. She does not seem to know just how her clothes caught fire. But most likely from throwing a lighted match on the floor as the found the lamp burning on table where she had been at work. At the present time her chances for recovery are good.
