Fred Jenkens of Lincoln was a visitor at the Fred Ohrt home one day last week. 

Mr and Mrs. Hans Hoff were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Chas. Mohr. 

Mr and Mrs. Arthur Schneekloth spent Thursday evening at the Chas. Mohr home. 

Mrs. Helen Cornelius and sons visited at the George Labs home at Elkhorn. 

Mr and Mrs. Joyce Fullerton were guests at the P. W. Frederickson home Sunday. 

Mrs. John Petersen and daughter Hazel, visited with Mrs. Al Glandt Tuesday evening. 

Mr and Mrs. Henry Schneckloth spent Saturday afternoon at the Chas. Mohr home. 

Mr and Mrs. Art Desler and Duane were visiting at the D. P. Desler home Saturday night. 

Mr and Mrs. E. C. Stoltenberg and daughter, Margaret, motored to Omaha Sunday evening. 

Mrs. Frank Talbert and children of Omaha spent the week-end at the E. A. Timperley home. 

Miss Bernice Logemann and Alvin Buller spent Sunday at the home of the latter’s parents. 

Misses Minnie and Sophia Petersen spent Monday evening with Mrs. Helen Cornelius and sons. 

Miss Roma Gottsch and brother, Harlan, spent Monday evening at the F. C. Gottsch home. 

Mr and Mrs. Elmer Witte and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Aug. Witte. 

Miss Peggy Hendricksen of Omaha spent the week-end with Misses Marian and Evelyn Dierks. 

Mrs. W. C. Kramer of Omaha spent Thursday evening at the home of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Hickey. 

Mr and Mrs. F. W. Suverkrubbe and sons spent Monday evening at the Julius Suverkrubbe home. 

Mr and Mrs. Fred Gottsch attended Rebekah lodge meeting at Benson Monday evening. 

Mr and Mrs. George Huber and family were dinner guest of Mr and Mrs. Harry Lund Sunday. 

Henry Misfeldt and daughter, Miss Helen of Dale, spent Monday afternoon at the Fred  C. Gottsch home. 

Mr and Mrs. Charles Mohr and family spent Saturday evening with Mrs Tena Mohr and Edna. 

Mr and Mrs. Herbert Peters and son, Glenn, spent Friday evening with Mr and Mrs.Charles Mohr. 

Mr and Mrs. Nick Friedricksen and Shirley of Kennard spent Sunday at the George Logemann home. 

Several from this community attended the dance at the German hall Sunday and at Irvington Friday. 

Prof and Mrs. Graham and family moved into the house recently vacated by Mr and Mrs.Virgil Rooney. 

Mr and Mrs. Charles Mohr and son, Lyle, were visitors at the Herbert Cohrs home Tuesday afternoon. 

The Bennington Commercial club held a meeting and decided to rent the Bennington park for the season. 

Mr and Mrs. Ernie Swanson and Mrs. John Doll of Omaha spent Friday evening at the P. W. Frederickson home. 

Jack Wagner has purchased the building containing his barber shop and is putting in a number of improvements. 

Mr and Mrs. John Claussen and daughter, Loretta, of Elkhorn, and Mrs. Regena Claussen spent Sunday evening at the Tim Ohrt home. 

Mr and Mrs. Herbert Cohrs are the parents of a baby born Sunday, April 24th. Mrs. Henry Schneekloth is taking care of mother and babe. 

 

 

Mr and Mrs. Arthur Glandt moved back into their home this week, after making their home with their parents, Mr and Mrs. C. W. Glandt. 

Mr and Mrs. Leonard  Suverkrubbe and Gerald of Benson and Mrs. Julius Suverkrubbe visited with Mrs. Helen Cornelius Saturday afternoon. 

Harry Ohrt was pleasantly surprised Sunday evening at the home of his parents, by a few of his close friends and relatives, in honor of his birthday. 

The village board held a special meeting Tuesday evening and appointed R. P. Glandt, chairman; H.C. Neumeyer; treasurer, and Fred C. Gottsch, clerk. 

There will be Ascension day serman at Zion Lutheran church, south of Bennington, Thursday evening, May 5th, in the German language, Services start at 10 o’clock. 

Mrs. C. W. Hickey and daughters, Misses Berpice and Roma, Mrs. E.C. Stoltenberg and daughters, Margaret, and Mrs. Henry Dornacker spent Monday afternoon with Miss Dora Johansen. 

Mr and Mrs. Julius Suverkrubbe and Mr and Mrs. Cornelius and sons, and Mrs. Alfred Wiese of Kanaranzi, Minn., were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. G. M. Mangold Sunday. 

The Bennington High school baseball team defeated the Ft. Calhoun team at Calhoun Friday with a score of 11 to 9. So far the local boys have made a good showing. This Friday they will play the Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha. 

Mrs. Emma Nelsen was hostess to the Tuesday Card club this week, when prizes were won by Mrs. Gus Paulsen and Mrs. Tena Bunz, first; Mrs. Tena Mohr and Mrs. C. W. Glandt, second, and Mrs. Anna Wiese and Mrs. Henry Hansen, consolation. 

Mr and Mrs. Elmer Backhaus entertained Thursday evening for Herbert Penke in honor of his birthday; guests were Mr and Mrs. P.W. Frederickson, Frank Backhaus, Carl Kunnemann and Mr and Mrs. Philip Rice of Omaha. Mrs Backhaus served a nice lunch. 

Mrs. Henry Gottsch celebrated her birthday Thursday evening when prizes at cards were won by Mrs. John Dornacker and Miss Ruberta Dornacker, first; Mrs. Wm. Christensen and Miss Earline Gottsch, second, and Mrs. Alma Gottsch, and Miss Greta Dornacker, consolation. 

Mrs. Henry Neumeyer and Mrs. Otto Lebbert called on A.A. Schuman at the hospital in Council Bluffs one day last week. Mr. Schuman who was severely

Injured in an automobile  accident about two months ago, is able to get around the hospital on crutches and expects to be able to return home soon. 

Mr and Mrs. A. J. Johnson and family of Washington, Mr and Mrs. Louis Gottsch and family of Elk City, Mr and Mrs. Wm. Christensen and son, Mr and Mrs. Henry Gottsch and son, and Mr and Mrs. John Dornacker and daughters, Greta and Bernice spent Sunday evening at the Emil J. Gottsch Sr. home. 

The Bennington High School Alumni association met at the home of its president, Mrs. George Anderson, at Washington Thursday evening of last week and made plans for the annual banquet, the exact date of which has not been decided on. Present officers of the organization are Mrs. George Anderson, president; Norman Petersen, vice president; Clarence Paulsen, secretary-treasurer, and Miss Charlotte Boonstra, member at large.

Mr and Mrs. Henry Neumeyer and daughter, Lois, and Mrs. Minnie Witte spent Sunday at the Henry Otte home near Waterloo. 

Mrs. P. C. Petersen, Mrs. Tim Ohrt and Vernelle and Mrs. Regena Claussen spent Sunday afternoon with Miss Tena Misfeldt. 

Mr and Mrs. Fred C. Gottsch and Mrs. Charles Gottsch Jr. helped Miss Roma celebrate her birthday Wednesday of last week. 

Mrs. Emma Nelson entertained the bridge club Friday, when prize were won by Mrs. Regena Claussen and Mrs. Anna Hadan. 

Mr and Mrs. Dornacker and daughters, Greta, Ruberta and Bernice, spent Sunday afternoon at the Eggert Ohrt home. 

Mr and Mrs. Gus Paulsen, Mrs. Tena Mohr, Mrs. Aug. Witte and Mrs. Anna Hadan spent Sunday evening with Mrs. Eggert Oft. 

Misses Hazel Petersen, Alma Anderson, Helen and Louise Logemann visited with Misses Elsie and Elizabeth Meeves Sunday. 

Dr. Harry Sullivan and his aunt, Miss Kennedy, of Omaha, were callers at the home of Dr. and Mrs. C. W. Hickey Friday evening. 

Mr and Mrs. John Dierks and family and Miss Peggy Hendricksen were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Gus Junge at Benson Sunday. 

Mrs. Alfred Wiese of Kanaranzi, Minn, is spending the week at the homes of G.M. Mangold, Mrs. Helen Cornelius and Emil Lamp.
