 Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bruhn spent Sunday at the Virgil Allison home.

 Misses Lois Niemann and Cleo Deerson spent Saturday in Omaha.

 Misses Freda Greggersen and Ella Deerson spent Thursday at the state fair.

 Mr. and Mrs. George Otte of Morse Bluff spent Sunday with Mrs. Louise Otte.

 Mrs. Mary Osterman was a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Gibbons. 

Fred Labs has rented the house of Mrs. Mary Osterman, and moved in Sunday.

 Mrs. Lizzie Bull and grandson, Georgie Murrary, were Omaha visitors Saturday.

 Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Allison spent Saturday evening at the Harvey Allison home.

 Miss Mildred Mockelmann spent a few days in Omaha at the Al Lorenzen home.

 Mr. and Mrs. Roy Masters of Arlington spent Sunday at the A.C. Otte home.

 Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hess spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Suess.

 Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Suess spent Thursday at Kennard at the Orville Nelson home.

 Leonard Parkening, Wilmer Fallon and Henry Lewon attended the state fair Tuesday. 

Miss Anita Plambeck of Millard spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. Art Plambeck. 

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Coates are parents of a baby boy, born Friday, September 9th.

 Mrs. Lizzie Quinn visited with Mrs. Mary Quinn in Omaha for several days last week.

 Mr. and Mrs. John Scheaf and sons spent Saturday evening at the Emil Thomsen home.

 Mr. and Mrs. Art Plambeck are the parents of a baby girl, born Friday, September 9th.

 Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Suess and Miss Mildred Hansen spent Sunday at Ceresco and Meade. 

Misses Ruby and Catherine Warstat spent the week-end in Yutan with Miss Lorene Schulz. 

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Headley and children spent Friday evening at the Chris A. Rolfs home.

 Mr. and Mrs. Peter Diestal of Omaha spent Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. John Diestel.

 V.E. Chamberlin, Mrs. Lucille Malstead and daughter, motored to Lincoln Saturday morning.

 Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brugman and daughters spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Holmes and family.

 Mrs. Hannah Quinn of Burwell visited with Mrs. Henry Bay and Mrs. J.B. Rogers Sunday afternoon.

 Mr. and Mrs. Chris A. Rolfs and family and Mrs. Louise Otte spent Sunday at the Peter Ehlers home.

 Miss Esther Matachuck left Monday for Peru, where she will complete her sophomore year this semester.

 Herman Coates, Miss Mildred Riecken and Emil Ohm visited with Mrs. Coates at the hospital Sunday.

 Jack and Victor Goodhard entertained sixteen little folks in honor of their birthdays Friday afternoon. 

Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Goodhard visited for several days last week at the Charles Goodhard home in Fremont.

 

The Elkhorn Library club will meet at the home of Mrs. G.F. Blackburn on Wednesday evening, September 21. 

Rev. Father Brock left Monday for New York City where he expects to spend a couple of weeks with relatives. 

Peter F. Burke left last week for St. Paul, Minn. where he will resume his studies at a seminary at that place.

Mrs. Mary Osterman returned to her home in Chicago, Ill. Sunday after spending a week with Elkhorn relatives.

 Mrs. M.S. Deerson, Miss Dora Denker and Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Kloxin spent Friday afternoon with Mrs. Ed Timm. 

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schuldt of Blair and Mrs. Hannah Quinn of Burwell visited at the Julius Schuldt home Sunday.

 Misses Edna and Twila Stewart and Joe Woods of Fairfield, Nebr. spent the week-end at the V.E. Chamberlin home.

 Jeanne Boggan spend several days of last week at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. John Alcorn, in Omaha.

 Mrs. Louise Schulz and Miss Lorene of Yutan were visitors at the Emil Warstat and Howard Bruhn homes Saturday.

 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koepke of Denison, Ia. and Henry Meyer spent Monday at the Henry Gotsch home at Springfield.

 Mr. and Mrs. Milton Marshall and daughter, Phyllis, spent  Sunday afternoon in Omaha at the George Marshall home.

 Emil Thomsen and daughters and Miss Lenora Rolfs spent Sunday afternoon at the Immanuel hospital with Thomsen.

 Miss Marie Suess is spending her vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Orville Nelsen and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nelsen at Kennard. 

Mrs. Maria Deerson entertained at dinner Thursday for Mr. and Mrs. Henry Paasch and Margaret Ann, and Miss Alice McArdle.

 Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Koepke of Denison, Ia. are visiting at the home of their niece, Mrs. P.W. Glandt for several days this week.

 Mr. and Mrs. Fred Villwok Sr. and William Villwok returned home last Thursday after a three week’s trip to Michigan and Canada.

 Mrs. Emil Thompson, who underwent an operation at Immanuel hospital in Omaha Thursday of last week, is getting along nicely.

 Mrs. Dietz, Mrs. Anna Greggersen and Otto Greggersen motored to Lincoln Wednesday and visited with Mrs. Dietze’s daughter.

 Mr. and Mrs. H.N. Witt and children and Miss Ethel Penke picnicked with Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Fuller and children in Omaha Sunday.

 Mr. and Mrs. Emil Meyer and family and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Quinn and son were dinner guests of Mrs. Mary Quinn in Omaha Sunday. 

Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Criss of St. Edward, Nebr., visited at the home of their daughter and husband Mr. and Mrs. G.F. Blackburn last week.

 Mr. and Mrs. George Holling and daughter of Omaha and Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Holling and son spent Sunday evening at the C.C. Holling home.

 Mr. and Mrs. Walter Winterburn, Miss Margaret Carstensen, Art Plambeck and son, Carroll, attended the show at the Orpheum Monday evening.

 Mr. and Mrs. Ed Saeger and son, Dean, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. G.C. Bailes in Omaha and attended W.O.W. field day at Krug park Sunday.

 Mr. and Mrs. William Glandt entertained at dinner Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. William Koepke of Denison, Ia. Mr. and Mrs. P.W.Glandt and Henry Meyer.

 Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bull Sr. entertained at their home Sunday for Mr. and Mrs. Ben Schomer, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schomer Sr, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Blum of Millard, Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Rohwer, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Rohwer, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Guering of Davenport, Ia., Miss Alice Rohwer and Clifford Custard, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Glandt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bull Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bull and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bull and their families.

 Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schuldt returned home Wednesday evening of last week from Cedar Rapids Ia. where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Cassel and sons. Mr. Schuldt says it’s a long ways, between banks in Iowa, but that they have good crops. He says business conditions are worse than here; there many forclosures of Iowa farms.
