Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brookley and Albert Johnson were guests of Miss Dorothy Lee Still last Thursday, when cards furnished amusement.

 Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Mohatt went to Omaha Wednesday morning to attend the funeral of John O’Brien, held at Our Lady of Lourdes church.

 The Waterloo Woman’s club will meet at the home of Mrs. George Todd this (Friday) afternoon. Mrs. W.H.Jacobsen will be the leader.

 Mr. and Mrs. George Powers went to Fremont Sunday to attend the funeral of Miss Fern Lucken, who died at the home of her parents in Burlington, Colo.

 The senior class of Waterloo High took Thursday for “sneak day”, and with the class sponsor, Miss Ines Wilson, motored to Arbor lodge at Nebraska City.

 The condition of Arnold Jensen, who suffered a paralytic stroke last week, is little changed. He is confined to his bed at the Jensen home west of town.

 Mrs. Ramnus Jensen returned to her home Monday from an Omaha hospital, where she recently underwent a major operation. She is getting along nicely.

 Mr. and Mrs. John Johnson of Ovid, Colo, are expected to arrive this week-end to spend a few days with Mrs.Johnson’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.Mrs. D.G. Hopper.

 Mrs. Nelson Bell motored to Omaha Saturday to bring home Marietta  Dyfardm who has been ill in Omaha hospital. The condition of the latter is materially improved. 

Harlan G. Coy and H.E. Lang Waterloo’s master bridge players, and top score of the east and west section in the bridge tournament Tuesday evening conducted by Mrs. Robt. Troyer at the Blackstone hotel. 

 The Happy Hour club was entertained at the home of Mrs. W.E. Briggs in Valley last Thursday afternoon, when nine were present. Bunco furnished amusement after the games Mrs. Brigg served a delicious lunch, assisted by her daughter, Miss Helen. The next meeting of the club will be held on May 5th at the home of Mrs. V.E. Bock at Venice. 

Mr. and Mrs. George Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Todd and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Todd and family, Henry Johnson of Waterlool Mr. and Mrs. Herbert McWhorter and Mr. and Mrs. Tin Hartsock of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Waldron and Miss Mina McWhorter of Omaha motored to Kennard Sunday to attend a family re-union at the Harry Bla

 

The District C.E. conference was held in Omaha last week-end and was attended by Glenn Reyner and Gertrude Zwiebel, delegates, and also by Misses Elizabeth Hansen and Inez Wilson and Rev. and Mrs. Garth G. Gee.

 The Evening Bridge club was entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Flor Wednesday evening, when first prizes were won by Mrs. H.W. Swindle and Jesse Todd and low scores were held by Mrs. Flor and B.W. Butler.

 Rev. Garth G. Gee attended a party at the home of Rev. James Mayne in Omaha Tuesday evening and on Wednesday evening Rev. Gee and Rev. Dametz of Valley had charge of the men’s prayer meeting at the Dundee Presbyterian church.

 Mr. and Mrs. John Nason and Miss Catherine Nason of Denison, Ia., were here Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brookley. Johnnie is a candidate on the democratic ticket for clerk of the district court in the spring primaries in his home county.

 He Ladies Aid society of the Presbyterian church  will meet  next Wednesday, May 4th at the home of Mrs. W.C. Flor. Mrs E.P. Noyes, Mrs. R.W. Rapp and Mrs. H.H. Morris will be assisting hostesses. Mrs. Mary Traber will have charge of the entertainment.

 Rev. and Mrs. Garth G. Gee will attend several pre-commencement activities in Omaha next week. Rev.  Mr. Gee graduates from the Omaha Seminary this year and the exercises will be held Thursday evening of next week at the First Presbyterian church in Omaha.

 Miss Inez Wilson, assistant principal of the Waterloo school the past three years,  has resigned her position here and will teach mathematics in the Senior High school at Manley, Ia. Next year. The school board has not yet filled the place made vacant by Miss Wilson’s resignation.

  Mr. and Mrs. Galen Saylor entertained at dinner Tuesday evening, when guests were superintendents, coaches, and their wives and escorts of Douglas-Sarpy School League. The guests included Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Rutherford, Fred Holbein and Miss Hardwood of Springfield; Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Bloss and Mr. and Mrs. A. Frans of Papillion, Mr. and Mrs. Noel Seney of Gretna.
