Mrs. Lafe Chavert and daughter, Rosemary, left last Thursday for Hartwell, Nebr where they will visit relatives for about three weeks. Ernest King and son, Reed, Wilbur Embrey and
Mr. Snyder of Valley attended the Roberts ball game in Omaha Sunday; the
Roberts team won the game. The Evening Bridge club was entertained at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Butler Saturday evening. Prizes were won by Mr. and
Mrs. R.W. Rapp. Mrs. William Thompson and Betty and Billy spent Sunday afternoon and evening at the Ernest King home while Mr. Thompson attended the ball game at Council Bluffs. Mr. and Mrs. John Todd motored to Tarkio, Mo.
Saturday returning Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. John Krusor parents of Mrs.
Todd, returned with them for a week’s visit. Mrs. Galen Saylor entertained at bridge Monday evening in honor of the teachers of the Waterloo schools. Four tables were occupied and Mrs. H.W. Swindle held high score.

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Todd and children of Snyder were visiting in Waterloo Monday evening. Mr. Todd attended a banquet in Omaha., given by the Nicholas Oil company and Mrs. Todd and children visited with relatives. Mrs. Howard Appleby and two daughters of Selma, Cal and Mr. and Mrs. Quincy Landsey and three children were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Coates Thursday. Mrs. Landsey formerly was Miss Maude Appleby. Mr. and Mrs. Joe McArdle and John Andresen of Elkhorn, J.F. McArdle and daughter, Mrs. Anna Nownes of Omaha and J.E. McArdle of Elk City were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hansen Sunday. The teachers of Waterloo schools will hold “Open House” day next Wednesday, September 21st. All the people of the community are invited and urged to visit the school on that day to meet the teachers and visit the school. Parents and patrons are welcome to visit the school at any time, but Wednesday is being set aside as a special calling day so that the patrons and teachers may become acquainted early in the school year. The affair will be in the nature of “ at home “ afternoon and the public is invited to call between the hours of 4 and 5 o’clock. Those wishing to do so may come earlier, while classes are in session and remain for the social hour. Refreshments will be served. Finds Stolen Auto. An automobile stolen Tuesday from Claus Sass of Washington, was found Thursday night in Omaha.
