were from the First Lutheran Church which was located at 20th and Mason

not an easy task.

In
the late 1800's and early 1900's, pastors from near by congregations came
by horse and buggy and later Model T to conduct Sunday afternoon services
in Elkhorn. In 1921 Rev. F.S. Seesko, Pastor at Immanuel Lutheran in
Benson, began conducting services in Elkhorn.
Also, according to church records I have found, the early Villwok family attended church at St. Paul Lutheran Church located in downtown Millard. |

| Personal Note: It is my personal belief that these early churches did not only serve as a place of worship, but they also added a true sense of community to the lives of its members. Knowing the difficulty in gathering any great number of family members or neighbors together for whatever reason, I understand and appreciate how special this gathering was. M.Labs | |||||
