Fritz Villwok, one of the oldest Douglas county
pioneers died at his home in Elkorn, Saturday, March 12, 1938. He had been
ill about two months.
Mr. Villwok was born in Stettin, Germany, January 29,1850, and was 88
years, 1 month, and 14 days old at the time of his death. He came to
America in 1875 and made his home for ten years in the Millard,
McArdleville communities, when he returned to Germany for a visit.
On June 24, 1875, he was married in New York to Caroline Reinke, and
they settled on his farm 2 miles east of Elkorn, where they resided until
1924, when they moved to Elkorn. Mrs Villwok died March 6,1932, and two of
his children also preceded him in death. |
