Mrs. Martha (Prochnow) Labs died at her home near
Elkorn January 24, 1930, following a short illness.
She was born in Pommern, Germany, February 24,
1873 and came to Douglas county when 12 years old
with her parents, who made their home in Omaha. She
was married to August Labs in 1891 and ten children
were born to them, four whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband and four sons, William,
George, Herman and Emil, and two daughters, Mrs.
Ernest Klabunde, and Miss Martha Labs; she is also
survived by one brother Albert Prochnow of Bennington
and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the home at 1 o'clock
Monday to Zion Lutheran church, near Bennington at
2 o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev. H.
Werning, and interment was at the Flower Hill Cemetery.
