A translation of the word "Pfingsten" is Whitsun. This is a Christian holiday and the Germans celebrate it on the 50th day after Easter. In the Christian Church this holiday is connected with the sending of the holy spirit. Whitsun also represents the end of the Easter time. In the Protestant Churches this day is also celebrated to remember the beginning of all the missions of the ten disciples and the birth of the church. Many years ago all the farmers brought their cattle out on the fields at Whitsun.
